NY Volunteer Firefighter Charged with Arson

A volunteer firefighter in Brentwood on Long Island was caught on a surveillance camera approaching a home shortly before it went up in flames.

A volunteer firefighter in the Long Island town of Brentwood was caught on a surveillance camera approaching a home shortly before it went up in flames.

Police arrested 24-year-old John Kovalsky, who has been charged with third-degree arson, causing intentional damage.

The homeowners say police told them Kovalsky worked as a volunteer firefighter.
